CHURCHES IN WISCONSIN CHALLENGE NEW GENDER DISCRIMINATION LAW

Five churches in Wisconsin are filing a lawsuit against the city of De Pere seeking exemption from a recently passed gender discrimination ordinance.  The churches are requesting exemption, stating that the law likely prohibits them from denying employment to someone whose beliefs go against the church's faith-based convictions.  VAIB supports the rights of churches in cases such as this to discern for themselves who to hire based upon their religious convictions.  Read more here:
