FOOTBALL COACH WHO PRAYED “IN PUBLIC” WILL APPEAL HIS CASE TO THE U.S. SUPREME COURT

High school coach Joe Kennedy was recently denied another hearing by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Although the coach simply recited a silent prayer mid-field during a football game, the court ruled that " ... the school district can fire an employee for engaging in prayer or religious conduct like Coach Kennedy does and that that employee is not entitled to constitutional protection under these circumstances."  VAIB watches such cases closely, especially in cases where the First Amendment rights of public employees are being stripped away.  Read more here:
