MAINE SCHOOL BOARD REVERSES DECISION REGARDING “I WILL PRAY FOR YOU” COMMENT BY TEACHER

A school board in Maine has reconsidered its decision that threatened the rights of a teacher who told someone "I will pray for you".  Earlier this year, the teacher was reprimanded and warned that her statements were not allowed on school property.  However,after filing an EEOC complaint, the teacher has now been given an “updated memorandum acknowledging [her] protected First Amendment right to privately discuss religion among her coworkers.”  VAIB supports the First Amendment rights of Christian workers in such cases to have faith-based discussions without fear of retribution from employers.  Read more here:
