STUDENTS OUTRAGED AFTER UNIVERSITY MOVES 9-11 FLAG MEMORIAL

Students in the Young Americans for Freedom Chapter at Southern Methodist University are outraged after learning that their annual 9-11 flag display to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks has been moved to a much less prominent area of the campus. Grant Wolf, the leader of the Young Americans for Freedom chapter, is concerned that “The university’s statement is reflective of a larger problematic attitude present on college campuses nationwide that the presentation of words and ideas constitute a kind of violence, or ‘macroaggression'". VAIB stands for the First Amendment rights of students in such cases to freely display the American flag in honor of the 9-11 victims.
