Dear Pastor,

While the summer is starting to heat up, so is the political scene. Be informed. Do not be confused by political rhetoric. Contact our office for information if you feel confused and frustrated.

Primary Elections June 11

To determine the candidates for the November elections, there will be a primary June 11. In some cases, candidates are running unopposed. However, you can only vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary. Word is out that “party crashers” may attempt to affect outcomes. (Go to http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Open_primary and read under “Primary Sabotage” for more information.)

Many legislators who have been supportive of VAIB are facing opponents this year. Get educated on the candidates, pray, and vote!

Legislative Report Cards Available

The Family Foundation again has produced its report card which covers a two-year period. You can view it online at http://familyfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2013-Report-Card-Condensed1.pdf. I have these available to mail to churches. Have the church office call our office with the church name and number needed, and we will mail them out ASAP! The American Conservative Union also has a broader ranging report card for just 2013 and can be viewed at http://www.scribd.com/doc/141710522/ACUStateRatings-VA-Rev. It covers more areas but can be opinionated in some areas which skew the results. In either report card, be sure to view what areas the votes cover as some may be of less importance to you. Focus on those issues most closely aligned with godly principles than personal preference or libertarian views often expressed by this group.

Annual Meeting Sep. 19-20, 2013

Make your plans now to attend! Enclosed is a brochure. See other tabs for “Directions & Lodging” and “2013 Schedule.” Encourage your church members to attend to hear Dr. David Gibbs Jr. as he informs us on recent US Supreme Court decisions, plus in-state speakers Pastor Sherman Davis of King George and Pastor Brad Weniger of Woodbridge.

Pray for us in our work—“From the Church—to the Capitol!”

In His Service,

Eddy Aliff
Executive Director
