Abortion rights groups have banned together to bring a federal lawsuit against the state of Virginia in an attempt to challenge existing regulations that "create unjust restrictions on access to abortion."  The plaintiff's definition of "unjust restrictions" includes requirements that second trimester abortions be performed in hospitals, a mandatory ultrasound before abortion, and ensuring that abortions are performed by licensed doctors.
