CALIFORNIA BILL THREATENS FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS

A bill has been introduced in California seeking to put a stop to any efforts or practices that would address someone with gender confusion or anyone seeking to change their sexual identity. However, the bill, known as AB2943, "would impose widespread censorship that could implicate authors, speakers, counselors, colleges and universities, and even religious leaders seeking to address unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion." VAIB is opposed to such bills, as they seek to strip away the First Amendment rights of organizations and individuals who seek to help transgender or homosexual individuals to change their sexual identity.
