Andrew Brunson, an American pastor from North Carolina, was arrested in 2016 in Turkey, unfairly charged with terrorism and espionage. However, the charges have not been proven, and Turkey continues to detain Andrew Brunson. As a result, President Trump has threatened sanctions against Turkey until the pastor is released.
