Thank you! Your voice was heard!

Thank you for making your voice heard! While the vote for H.R. 5, The Equality Act, ended about how you and I expected (passing by a vote of 236 to 173), the opposition was united and clear. H.R. 5 is NOT about fairness.
VAIB is a nonpartisan organization. That said, the vote broke along partisan lines in Virginia’s congressional delegation. Please THANK the following U.S. Representatives from Virginia for VOTING AGAINST H.R. 5: Robert Wittman (R), 1st District; Denver Riggleman (R), 5th; District; Ben Cline (R), 6th District; and Morgan Griffith (R), 9th District. We are heartened that all four of Virginia’s U.S. Representatives who voted against Nancy Pelosi opposed this assault on our constitutional and civil rights.
Speaker after speaker on the House floor articulated our warnings in strong, unequivocal terms. They reflected our concerns about the danger to women and children, the violation of religious liberty, free speech, and other civil rights of every American.
All seven of Virginia’s U.S. Representatives who voted for Nancy Pelosi also voted for H.R. 5. Please continue to press into educating the following U.S. Representatives who VOTED FOR H.R. 5: Elaine Luria (D), 2nd District; Robert “Bobby” Scott (D), 3rd District; Donald McEachin, (D), 4th District; Abigail Spanberger (D), 7th District; Donald Beyer (D), 8th District; Jennifer Wexton (D), 10th District; and Gerald Connolly (D), 11th District.
Sadly, several H.R. 5 supporters hid behind Scripture or a profession of faith to mislead the public, as they misrepresented the nature, goals, and legal outcomes of the legislation. For example, in a total rejection of reality, during debate on an amendment to protect women’s and girls’ sports, one proponent of H.R. 5 energetically dismissed the threat of biological males “gam[ing] the system” to dominate women’s sports by shouting “THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN!”—despite hundreds of national news reports documenting two biological males repeatedly dominating Connecticut’s girls high school track competitions.
The Daily Signal reported the reaction of sixteen-year-old competitor, Selina Soule, who placed eighth behind these boys and missed an opportunity to compete in the New England regional competition in front of college scouts. “It’s very frustrating and heartbreaking when us girls are at the start of the race and we already know that these athletes are going to come out and win no matter how hard you try . . . they took away the spots of deserving girls, athletes . . . me being included.”
So much more is at stake, and this is only one example of the misdirection of the supporters of H.R. 5. As the bill winds its way to the U.S. Senate, please continue to pray for its legislative and cultural demise. Together, we have fought many battles on the important issues affecting Virginia and will continue to fight for God’s truths.
If you need more information, you can read more on our website. Please continue to pray, share, and make your voice known. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-37).
